EC Study of Religions: An Introduction

The aim of this extension curriculum is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills in the field of religious studies methodology and textual studies, as well as to familiarise them with the most important questions and discussions of the subject. Basic competences in the historical, psychological, social-scientific and textually oriented study of religion are taught. Students are enabled to grasp and describe the diversity of religious manifestations in their social and cultural context, to recognise differences and commonalities in the organisational forms of concrete religions and to deal with questions about the social role of religion(s).
