Degree Certificates

Congratulations on the successful completion of your studies!

Your degree certificates (Diploma, Notice of degree award and Diploma supplement) will be issued as soon as possible (usually within a few working days; legal deadline: four weeks after the final exam at the latest) and will be sent to you via email. We kindly ask you to wait for the notification and to refrain from further inquiries!

Survey on study-related stays abroad

Students at public universities are obliged to complete the UHSTAT2 survey form (according to section 18 subsections 6 and 7 of the Bildungsdokumentationsgesetz 2020, Federal Law Gazette I  No. 20/2021, in the current version, and section 141 subsection 3 of the Universitätsgesetz 2002, Federal Law Gazette I  No. 120/2002, in the current version) when completing a bachelor's, master's, diploma or doctoral degree program.

After successfully passing the final examination, please fill in the form. As soon as you have completed the survey, you will receive a confirmation. Send this confirmation by e-mail to ssc.ktf@univie.ac.at.

The Degree Certificates can only be handed over once the confirmation has been submitted to the SSC.

Issue of the degree documents
  • The degree certificates will be sent to you via email.
  • Please send the confirmation of participation from your UStat survey (statistical survey on completion of your study) to the SSC via mail
  • In case you need signed documents, please contact us and we will send you the signed documents to your postal adress.

Four weeks after sending the officially signed notice of award by e-mail, the notice of award becomes legally binding and you have the right to use the degree awarded to you. If you wish to use the degree earlier, please inform the SSC that you waive your right to appeal and the award decision will become valid on the day you waive your right to appeal.

To celebrate the completion of your studies you and your family and friends may attend a graduation ceremony.
