Changing the curriculum of a degree programme

The curriculum of a degree programme may be changed or updated: Minor changes/updates apply to all students in the degree programme.

If the changes to the curriculum are profound, a new version of the degree programme is published. The new version of the degree programme applies to all students, who are newly admitted to the degree programme.

All other students may complete their studies in the old version of the degree programme within a set period. Students, who do not complete their studies within the set period, will be admitted after the deadline to the new version of the degree programme.

Students in an old version of a degree programme may change into the new version voluntarily before the deadline. Please note: You may not reverse that decision. A changing back into the old version is legally not possible.

Changing the curriculum voluntarily

  • Submit the completed form Meldungsformular at the SSC. Your application will be sent to the Admission Office of the University of Vienna for further processing: The admission to the expiring version of the degree programme will be terminated and you will be admitted to the new version.

Please note, that courses and exams completed in the old version of a degree programme will not be automatically recognized for the new version: You have to make an application for the recognition of those courses and exams.
