Master's Programme “Religion in Europe”
From the winter semester 2025, the University of Vienna will be offering a new English-language Master's degree programme ‘Religion in Europe’ at the Faculty of Protestant Theology in cooperation with the Faculty of Catholic Theology, which is dedicated to the ethical, aesthetic and meaningful potential of religion and religious communities in European societies from an interdisciplinary perspective and teaches reflection, discourse and action skills in relation to religion-related social and political issues.
This new Master’s program provides a deeper understanding of the European religious history, the sociology of religion, and religious law. It allows individual specialization in the areas of "Religion and Text", "Religion, Ethics, and Politics", "Religion and Society", and "Religion and Culture", and provides practical skills for analyzing and addressing religion-related challenges in pluralistic societies. The program is aimed at graduates of Bachelor's who are involved with the phenomenon of "religion" in a professional, voluntary, or private context and want to expand their skills in this area.
You can find more information about the programme on the website of the StudienServiceCenter Protestant Theology
