EC Ethics and law in medicine

The aim of the extension curriculum is to offer students insight into current ethical and legal challenges in the fields of medicine and biotechnology and to provide them with ethical and legal competences in this area. Students become familiar with pivotal theories and areas of concern in medical ethics and medical law and are able to recognise and describe problems of action in the field of medicine and to reflect on them with regard to normative issues. Students deepen their knowledge of specific fields of medicine or biotechnology from an ethical or legal perspective. They learn to deal with the interdisciplinary nature of medical and biotechnological challenges and to contribute productively to problem solving from an ethical or legal perspective.
