Bachelor's Programme - Focus on Catholic Religious Education

The Bachelor's Programme with a focus on Catholic Religious Education offers a compact introduction to all the essential fields of Catholic Theology and enables a focus on Catholic Religious Education in the Master's Programme.

When approaching Catholic Religious Education in the pursuit of a teaching profession, the main focus is on Catholic Religious Education Studies. It does not have to be combined with any other teaching subject.

Students will acquire basic knowledge of the analysis of religious texts and traditions and of the history and development of religious phenomena and institutions as well as of ways of reflecting them in systematic and practical ways.

They will acquire additional skills in reflecting philosophically and theologically on Christian and non-Christian religious traditions, in applying subject-specific methods and in planning, molding, and accompanying educational processes in religion-related fields.

Since the philosophical-theological subjects of this programme are also part of the Diploma Programme in Catholic Theology, we recommend combining it with this programme.
